New Moon Farmers' Market

About this Event

The Event

Food and craft vendors from our neighborhood network will gather outside in the north pasture of our 1860's dairy barn between 3pm and 7pm on Saturday Nov 14th. Showcasing not only the wonderful artisans of our community but also the multiple agricultural and environmental organizations that call the Sourland Mt. their home. Shoppers are invited to enjoy the evening on the grounds listening to live music, engaging with other community members and learning about our historic neighborhood and the vision we have for the property. Wearing a mask is a must! ALL shoppers and vendors are required to uphold the appropriate COVID 19 safety parameters.

The Farm at 94 Wertsville Rd

"94" is one of the oldest Dutch Barns still standing in Somerset county. The 9.6 acre property and Victorian era home had been sitting vacant until a year ago when it was purchased by the adjacent What-A-View Farms family. What-A-View Farms is best known for their Yoga with Goats classes and hope to bring their yoga practice into the space of the historic barn as well as infuse it as an Agricultural/Environmental/Spiritual Community Center. Amongst the partnerships being formed at 94 and What-A-View, Tony Kennette of Martenette Farms and the Northeast Organic Farming Association of NJ have begun prepping the back fields for a certified Organic Pick Your Own berry operation where they will grow Blackberries, Raspberries and Blueberries. As for the Victorian home, the dream is to turn the lower level into a locally sourced farm to table breakfast and lunch cafe as well as use the commercial grade kitchen where the neighboring farms can process their produce into delicious value added goods.
